What it is

What is Sublimation Printing?

Sublimation turns dye into a gas under heat and bonds it directly into the polyester fibres of your fabric. The print is part of the fabric — there is literally no "ink layer" sitting on top, so it cannot crack or peel. This is what we use for sports jerseys, sublimation tees and full-coverage all-over prints.

The catch: it only works on polyester (or polyester-blend) fabrics, and only on light or white base colours — sublimation cannot print over a dark base.

How it is done

The sublimation printing process

  1. Design tile. Artwork is tiled across a roll of sublimation paper at 1:1 scale.
  2. Inkjet print. CMYK sublimation inks are printed on the paper.
  3. Heat press. Paper meets fabric at 200°C for 30 seconds — dye sublimates from solid to gas to permanent fibre dye.
  4. Cool & finish. Garment is cooled, inspected and packed.
